The Journey Begins

My name is Trey Jackson, and I’ve been on a bit of a spiritual journey, that I honestly never had any intention of being on.

My original plan after quitting my job as a software consultant was to day trade crypto currency and do Uber until I could figure out what the hell I wanted from my life.

Things took a turn when just 30 minutes after deciding to quit my job the next day, a traumatic injury occurred which nearly caused me to lose my hand. In my post-op after leaving the hospital while I recovered physically, I started being guided by the universe to recover who I really was internally as well. Doing this work makes me uncomfortable, but I think I don’t really have a choice in the matter any more. I’m here and I’m writing words down on the internet.

I’ve always wanted to help people from the bottom of my heart, and the best way I know to do that is to help people remember who they really are. We are not this fragile thin character we pretend to be on the outside. A character that shape shifts depending on the crowd we surround ourselves with… A character that takes every opportunity to indulge in distraction and avoid the big question of, “Who am I? What am I doing here? Will any of this even matter?” If you’re asking that question to the people you surround yourself with “if you matter”, than your question is being directed to the wrong audience. That question can only be answered internally. We decide if we matter, and we only matter if we feel like we are fulfilling our life’s purpose. This means listening to and following our hearts, and practicing a whole freaking lot of self-love.

I am also writing a book about my journey (didn’t want to do this either), and I’ve been guided to start this blog to share with everyone while I write. We need to remember we did not come here to ‘compare’ one life to another. Comparison has never been the aim of the game by the true self. We are all unique expressions of the universe, and we came here to do display our uniqueness and share with others. You matter, and I matter, and together – with enough love – we can remember this notion and support each other on our life paths to fulfill our life’s purpose. Your heart is a compass, and I advise you to listen to it. There will be more to come, but this is all that decided to spill on the page at the moment.

Nothing but love,

Trey Jackson (or like am I really??)
